A mid-century sideboard by Morris of Glasgow.
With six drawers split either side of a central, shelved, double-doored cupboard there is ample storage space within this beautiful piece of retro furniture by the much sought after mid century maker, Morris of Glasgow.

In good restored condition.

In 1947, Morris was chosen to design a bedroom suite for Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip as a royal wedding gift, using wood from the Balmoral Estate. The suite was installed at Clarence House and now resides in Sandringham Castle. Eighteen years later, Morris furnished the Queen’s namesake cruise ship.

Throughout the mid-20th century, Morris Furniture Group steadily grew, expanding into high-end markets. In 1955, they exported Wurlitzer jukeboxes to the U.S. during the music boom. They took part in the 1958 Festival of Britain and, in 1963, Neil Morris earned acclaim for his Bambi chair and Clouds tables—now prized by collectors.

In 1967, Morris once again outfitted a royal vessel, the QE2. By 1970, they were supplying desks and cabinets to British Embassies, reinforcing their legacy in office furniture.
